What does “petite” mean?

Technically anybody who is under 5’4’’ is considered petite regardless of size. You can be taller than 5’4” and still fit into petite clothes based on the length of your torso or legs, but this is less common.

 

So you might assume petite clothing is all about the length. Imagine cutting off a couple inches on regular sized pants or the sleeves of a shirt. Would it fit a shorter person? Probably not. That’s because it’s also about proportion. Buttons, armholes, pocket placements, pattern sizes, and shoulder width have to be resized.

 

That’s where petite sizes comes in. It’s tucked in at the right places, has smaller prints and buttons, and a higher waistline. You get a tailor made piece of clothing without the tailor!

 

What is Petite Ave? 

Petite Ave is a destination for the best petite clothing on the web. We aggregate petite sizes from many top brands and give you the option to view clothing that suits your budget, body shape, and size.

 

How does it work?

As soon as you place an order on Petite Ave, we send a notification to the retailer.  At that point, the retailer will process your transaction, send you a confirmation email, and ship out your order. If you order clothing from multiple retailers, you'll receive multiple confirmation emails and multiple boxes in the mail. If you decide to return anything, you would return the clothing directly to the retailer as you normally would.

 

How is this different than shopping on the retailers' sites directly?

We offer the convenience of shopping from many different stores all on one site. Not only does this give you a wide selection of clothing, but this also makes things super easy at check-out: you can now buy clothes from multiple stores with one easy check-out. We also categorize all clothing by body type which increases your chances of finding that perfect piece.

 

Which retailers do you feature on your site?

We currently feature the following retailers: 7 For All Mankind, Adrianna Papell, Ann Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Dorothy Perkins, Dressbarn, LOFT, Marks & Spencer, Missguided & Paige. We’re working on other partnerships and will continue to add more as we grow.

 

How much does it cost? 

It doesn't cost anything to use Petite Ave. The prices on Petite Ave are exactly the same as the prices on the retailers' sites. If you see a price discrepancy, please contact supp[email protected] so we can look into it.

How much does shipping cost? Who covers this?

The cost of shipping varies by retailer, and you will be charged exactly what the retailer would charge you if you were shopping on their site directly. For example, if 7 For All Mankind has free shipping on all orders, then the same is true on Petite Ave. If you are purchasing items from multiple stores, then you'll incur the relevant shipping fees for each store, but many retailers on our site offer free shipping.

 

Do you ship internationally?

At this point, we only support shipments to the US, Japan, Singapore, and Romania. We're hoping to expand soon.

 

Why do I see a difference in taxes when shopping on Petite Ave vs. the retailer's site?

Taxes depend on where you’re shipping the products. If you entered your address on one site and not the other, then you’re most likely seeing an estimate for the site that does not have your address. Once you enter your address, the taxes should be the same on both sites.

 

What if I have a promo code from a specific retailer?

You can enter the promo code directly in the Petite Ave shopping cart by clicking on the button below. If you have multiple promo codes (one for each store), you can enter these separately underneath the item(s) from each store.

 

How do I know if my promo code worked?

If a promo code is recognized by our system, then you'll see a description such as "15% Off Over $100" along with an estimate of the discount within the shopping cart. If a discount code isn't required or the discount code is for a specific category of items such as sweaters or pants, the discount will be applied after you place your order and it's been verified by the retailer. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to provide price estimates within the shopping cart in these instances; however, you will still receive the discount after the order has been processed.

 

What does "applied at checkout" mean?

This means the discount needs to be verified by the retailer before it can be applied. In these cases, the final price in the shopping cart does not reflect the discount but you will be charged the correct amount by the retailer (assuming the promotion is valid). You will receive a text from us within a few minutes of placing your order that states exactly how much you were charged by the retailer. What happens if I need to return an item? Do I send it back to Petite Ave?

Since we aggregate clothing from multiple stores and don’t carry any inventory directly, you should return the item directly to the store it was purchased from. Please see below for return policy by store.


Shipping & Return Policy By Retailer

 

Free shipping on all orders from 7 For All Mankind.

 

Unwashed, unworn, unused merchandise (original tags attached) may be returned within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund. Merchandise returned after 30 days will only be refunded in the form of an online store credit. The value of the refund is determined by the last retail price of the item as marked on the 7 For All Mankind website. Items marked final sale (including sale items) cannot be returned. Free shipping on all orders from Adrianna Papell.

 

Adrianna Papell will gladly accept returns for items within 30 days of delivery date for a full refund with a copy of the original invoice. This will be determined using the Fedex tracking details of the order. They will only accept returns for items that have not been worn, altered or washed. All tags must be attached. Free shipping on all orders from AG Jeans

 

Unwashed, unworn, unused or defective merchandise may be returned within 14 days after purchase for a refund. All products must be returned in their original condition, with tags still attached. Ann Taylor orders of $124.99 or less ship for $8.95. Free shipping if you spend over $125.

 

We will credit you for returns, accompanied by an original receipt, received within 30 days of the purchase for the price paid either in the original form of payment or as a merchandise exchange (in store only). Returns accompanied by an original receipt, made more than 30 days after the purchase, will be credited for the item’s current selling price either in the form of a merchandise credit or as a merchandise exchange (in story only).  

 

Returns without an original receipt will be credited for the item’s current selling price on the date of the return, in the form of a merchandise credit. You have 365 days to return almost any Bloomingdale's purchase for a refund or store credit, as long as your purchase is still in saleable condition. While we cannot accommodate every return, we value you and will always be reasonable. We ask that you do the same. No receipt? We'll credit your Bloomingdale's account. No Bloomingdale's account? You can return unworn internet purchases via post within 14 days of receiving your item. In the interests of hygiene, we do not offer refunds on pierced jewellery, underwear or swimwear if the hygiene seal has been removed, or cosmetic products if they have been used or the hygiene seal is broken, unless they are of unsatisfactory quality or unfit for purpose. Returns/Exchanges are gladly accepted within 60 days of the original purchase date for unworn items that have price tickets or defective items. Without a receipt, we will issue a merchandise credit for the lowest selling price offered during the past 30 days. You may return unused products within 35 days of purchase with a valid parcel summary document. Your items don't need to be in the original box or bag as long as they're securely packaged. In order to minimize the cost of shipping, you can ship your item back to a location in the US (instead of the UK). If you change your mind about any items purchased you can return them to us within 28 days of the parcel being delivered to you, provided the items are unworn and unwashed, the items have all Missguided tags attached, and you take good care to avoid the transfer of make-up.
